MISSION

The Diversity Awareness Initiative for Students, DAIS, is an organization dedicated to strengthening our schools and ourselves, through increased knowledge, awareness, and respect for different cultures.  Its members are comprised of students from independent, public, and parochial schools, who wish to discuss and improve human relations within the community and society at large.

8th Grade Meeting at St. Bernard's School

A meeting specifically for 8th grade students, to comfortably introduce them to our format and organization. 

There will be an introduction and orientation session, as well as a chance to experience what it is like to participate in an exciting discussion session facilitated by some of our student leaders in DAIS 

** Adults who chose to accompany their students will have the opportunity to meet with some of our DAIS Board members and alumni, as well as the Executive Director, for their own introduction to DAIS.

Directions by train- Take the 4 or 5 train to 86th Street. Change to the 6 local train. Take the 6 train to 96th Street. Walk west on 96th Street to Park Avenue. Make a right onto Park and walk north Park Ave to 98th Street. Make a left onto 98th and walk west until you are on 98th Street between Madison and 5th Avenues. The school is on that block.
