MISSION

The Diversity Awareness Initiative for Students, DAIS, is an organization dedicated to strengthening our schools and ourselves, through increased knowledge, awareness, and respect for different cultures.  Its members are comprised of students from independent, public, and parochial schools, who wish to discuss and improve human relations within the community and society at large.

Participants from all religions, races, gender expressions, socio-economic status and other social identifiers are welcome.

DAIS 8th Grade Meeting and Parent Introduction at Harlem Academy

A meeting to introduce 8th grade students to DAIS!

An introduction and orientation session, as well as a chance to experience what it is like to participate in an exciting discussion session facilitated by some of our student leaders in DAIS who began their involvement in the 8th grade.

** Adults who chose to accompany their students will have the opportunity to meet with some of our DAIS Board members and alumni, as well as the Executive Director, for their own introduction to DAIS.

Directions by train- Take the 2 or 3 train to 110th Street (Central Park North). Walk east on 111th street, 1 block to 5th Avenue. Make a left onto 5th Avenue. The school is in the middle of the block.
